Description

The Yaesu FLDX-400 is a large tube transmitter from the late 1960s that, with a 12BY7A driver and two 6JS6C final tubes, delivers up to 240 W PEP on SSB (also 240 W on CW) across eight bands between 80 and 10 meters, with an optional FSK mode. Paired with the visually matching FRDX-400 receiver in its distinctive chrome housing, it formed one of the well-known "Chrome Coffin" twin sets from Yaesu's early era. An unusually high 750 W input figure is listed for AM operation, which looks implausible next to the other power ratings and is likely a transcription error.
