The Yaesu FR-101S is the early, analogue "standard" version of the FR-101 receiver family, without the later digital frequency display used on the FR-101D. Like its sister models it covers general-coverage reception from 1.8-30 MHz across 21 sub-ranges and was designed as the companion receiver to the FT-101 transceiver. It was built from 1974 to 1978, with some units later fitted with a digital counter and referred to as "FR-101SD".
