The Yaesu FR-50B is the revised version of the FR-50 and was also sold in Europe from around 1969 onward under the Sommerkamp export brand. The double-conversion superheterodyne receiver covers the 80 to 10 meter bands and offers an optional extra range around 10 MHz for WWV time-signal reception. Like the FR-50, it was typically used as the receive half of a matched transmit/receive station.
