The Trio JR-500S is an early amateur shortwave receiver from 1967, covering the 80- to 10-metre bands across seven segments and additionally receiving the Japanese JJY time-signal station. It was also sold under third-party brands (e.g. Allied A-2516) and is regarded as one of the first affordable Trio amateur receivers. Reception modes are AM, SSB and CW.
