The JR-599 Custom Special (Type X) is the fully-equipped variant of the 599-Custom range with built-in 6 m and 2 m coverage, so that 160 to 10 metres plus 50-53.4 MHz and 144-147.4 MHz can be received without add-on modules. The double-conversion set (1st IF 8.295-8.895 MHz, 2nd IF 3.395 MHz) supports AM, FM, SSB and CW. Three SO-239 sockets serve the three antenna ranges.
