Description
The Trio 9R-59 is one of the best-known Japanese tube receivers of all, and in the early 1960s it became a classic for shortwave listeners and aspiring radio amateurs. The single-conversion superhet with a 455 kHz IF and nine tubes receives AM and CW across four bands from 0.55 to 30 MHz. A switchable Q-multiplier sharply improves selectivity, while a bandspread fine-tuning control eases tuning on the ham bands.
