Description
The Trio 9R-4J is a tube communications receiver from the late 1950s and one of the early successes of the company that later became Kenwood. The nine-tube superheterodyne covers 0.55 to 30 MHz in four bands and receives AM plus, via its beat-frequency oscillator (BFO), CW/telegraphy. At around 11 kg with continuous analog tuning, it is a typical example of the Japanese receivers that were then beginning to conquer the market.
