The Kenwood TH-46E expanded the compact 70cm handheld series in 1989 with additional memory channels and a third power level. With 20 memory slots, a dedicated call channel, and a backlit display, it offered noticeably improved usability over the TH-45. Output power ranges from 20 mW to 5 watts, allowing flexible use from short range up to full repeater distance. It remains one of the enduring classics among Kenwood's UHF handhelds.
