Description

The Kenwood TS-511S from 1971 is the more powerful successor to the TS-510, delivering up to 250 watts PEP output on SSB, among the highest of the early Kenwood tube transceivers. Like its predecessor it is tube-based and operates in SSB and CW only across the 80 through 10 meter bands, requiring the external PS-511S power supply. The TS-511S is regarded as a solid transitional classic between the early tube transceivers and the later, more widely known TS-520 series.
