The Trio TR-2E is one of the earliest commercially available 2m base stations for amateur radio, dating from 1967. As a pure AM tube-type rig, it marks the transition from crystal-channel operation to the first generation of serious VHF base stations. It offers only a single crystal-controlled transmit channel and operates exclusively in amplitude modulation, with no FM or SSB capability.
