Description

The Kenwood/Trio TR-2200 is regarded as one of the best-known early amateur radio handhelds for the 2-meter band, manufactured in Japan from 1970 onward. It operates on six crystal-controlled channels in the 144-146 MHz range, FM only, and 1 watt of output power. At about 1.7 kg (including batteries and microphone), it was considerably more compact than the preceding 6-meter TR-1100/TR-1200 models and founded an entire product family. It spawned numerous revisions (TR-2200A, TR-2200G, TR-2200GII, TR-2200GX) offering more channels, higher power, and added features such as a tone-call burst.
