Description

The Kenwood TH-D7E was one of the first amateur radio handhelds with a fully integrated 1200/9600bps TNC for APRS operation. It combines a 2m/70cm FM transceiver with an AX.25 packet modem, enabling position and text messaging without any external accessories. The rugged housing and dual-receive capability (voice on one band, packet data on the other) made it a pioneering device of the APRS movement. Despite its age, it remains a sought-after collector's item among APRS enthusiasts today.
