Description

The Icom IC-u4E is a particularly compact amateur radio handheld transceiver for the 70 cm band, produced from 1987 to 1989. It operates in FM mode only with a maximum output power of 1 watt and uses a double-conversion superheterodyne receiver with dual intermediate frequencies for good selectivity. A programmable repeater offset and 1750 Hz tone burst make it well suited for FM repeater operation.
