The Icom IC-2E is a compact handheld transceiver for the 2 m amateur band, produced from 1980 to 1990. It operates in FM only and delivers up to 1.5 watts of RF output when used with the optional 8.4V battery pack. Its double-conversion superheterodyne receiver, 1750 Hz tone burst function, and BNC antenna connector make it a classic example of early portable VHF transceivers.
