The Midland G7 launched in 2006, initially standing out for its unconventional two-tone design, which was met with internal skepticism at first. Yet it was precisely this unconventional, ergonomic shape that made it exceptionally comfortable to carry even on long hikes, turning the G7 into one of Midland's longest-lasting successes. With a sturdy metal frame, dual-band operation on PMR446 and LPD (85 channels combined), and switchable transmit power of 10 or 500 mW, this was the base model from which the later "G7 Pro" generation, already in the catalog, was developed.
