The Icom ID-1 is an amateur radio mobile transceiver for the 23 cm band (1240-1300 MHz) and was the first radio to introduce the digital D-STAR mode for voice and high-speed data transmission. Via a built-in 10BASE-T Ethernet port it supports TCP/IP data links, email, and picture or video transmission. The separate control head allows flexible mounting away from the compact main unit.
