The Icom IC-48A is a compact 70 cm amateur mobile transceiver from the 1980s, designed for FM operation in the UHF band. It delivers up to 25 watts of output power (switchable to 5 watts) and features a double-conversion superheterodyne receiver along with 21 memory channels backed by a lithium battery. Depending on the sales region, it covers 440-450 MHz (USA) or 430-440 MHz (Australia).
